DRAFT FOR REVIEW

Illustrative example with fictional client details.

Start with the work on your desk.

The quotes are back. One option costs less; another has a different deductible and coverage terms. Your client needs a clear explanation, and you need a proposal you can edit without starting over.

What you bring

  • Reviewed carrier quotes

Include the terms, quote dates, premiums, and relevant coverage details for each option.

  • Your recommendation

Explain which option you prefer, why it fits, and the tradeoffs you want the client to understand.

  • Agency and client details

Add the correct names, contact information, and wording you want in the proposal.

What you get back

  • A proposal you can refine

Work from an organized document with a recommendation, coverage details, qualifications, and next steps.

  • A PDF for your client conversation

Edit the draft in place and download it after you have checked the content.

A request you can use

Create a proposal from these reviewed quotes. Lead with my recommendation below, then compare the premiums, limits, deductibles, and material differences. Include the outstanding conditions and next steps. Leave anything unsupported out and keep the document editable.

Your review before the next step
  • Confirm all figures and terms against the carrier quotes, including taxes or fees where applicable.
  • Make sure your recommendation reflects the client's priorities and your professional judgment.
  • Check that the proposal clearly identifies conditions still outstanding.

Send the reviewed proposal through your usual channel and keep the final version with the client's file.

Use the document review checklist

Practical answers before you put this workflow to work.

Can I change the wording after it is generated?

Yes. The document is editable in place. You can refine the explanation and correct details before downloading the PDF.

Can I bring my own agency template?

Agency-template support differs between Relay products and workspace configurations. Confirm the template workflow before relying on a custom upload. You can still provide your agency details, preferred wording, and instructions for the draft.

Will Relay choose the policy to recommend?

Give Relay your recommendation and the reasons behind it. It helps prepare the comparison and explanation; the advice remains yours.

What if two quotes use different terms?

Ask Relay to call out the differences rather than treating the prices as a like-for-like comparison. Verify limits, deductibles, exclusions, and conditions against the carrier documents.

Does it send the proposal automatically?

Preparing and downloading the document are separate from sending it. Review the final copy and share it through your agency's process.
