What QQ Catalyst is
QQ Catalyst is a cloud-based agency management system from Vertafore, built for growing independent agencies. It keeps policy and client data in one place and layers on workflow automation the vendor calls smartflows, plus a built-in sales pipeline manager and more than 50 pre-built reports. It supports carrier downloads for policy data, claims, eDocs, and Direct Bill Commissions, and it connects to Vertafore's PL Rating comparative rater. The AMS is the system of record: policies, clients, activity logs, and accounting live there.
How Relay fits
Relay is not a QQ Catalyst integration or a Vertafore partner, and it does not sync your QQ Catalyst database or read from or write to it. Relay works alongside the AMS on the work that happens before and around it: the inbox, the documents, the ACORD forms, and the carrier portals. Your team stays in QQ Catalyst as the system of record and uses Relay to prepare the work that ends up recorded there.
QQ Catalyst already automates a lot inside the AMS with smartflows and carrier downloads. Relay handles what those do not reach: the loose PDFs and requests sitting in the inbox, the ACORD drafting, and, in the AI Quoting Research Preview, carrier portal workflows run with human review.

Inbox triage
Without
A CSR reads every carrier and client email, decides who owns it, and re-keys the relevant details into QQ Catalyst as activities or notes.
With Relay
Ask Relay reads, tags, and assigns incoming mail and drafts responses for review. The person who owns the thread logs the outcome in QQ Catalyst.
Document intake
Without
Loss runs, dec pages, and supplements arrive as email attachments. Carrier downloads cover policy data, but the loose PDFs in the inbox still get typed in by hand.
With Relay
Document Parsing extracts the structured data from those PDFs so your team works from fields, not screenshots, when they update QQ Catalyst.
ACORD preparation
Without
Producers or CSRs assemble ACORD 125/126/140 packets by hand from whatever is in the AMS and the inbox.
With Relay
ACORD Generation drafts the forms from the client record and source documents. A person reviews and sends, then files the packet in QQ Catalyst.
Quoting
Without
For carriers a comparative rater does not cover, the same risk gets keyed into each portal, 15 to 20 minutes at a time.
With Relay
In the AI Quoting Research Preview, the agency selects supported carriers and Relay runs the configured portal workflows in parallel, returning results with source evidence for human review. PL Rating still handles the personal lines rating it already covers.
Common questions
Does Relay integrate with QQ Catalyst directly?
No. Relay does not read from or write to QQ Catalyst. It automates the surrounding work: email, documents, forms, and carrier portals. Your AMS remains the system of record, and Relay is not a Vertafore partner.
QQ Catalyst has smartflows. Does Relay replace them?
No. Smartflows automate steps inside the AMS, like renewals and internal task routing. Relay automates the work outside the AMS: the inbox, the document attachments, the ACORD forms, and carrier portal quoting in the Research Preview. They cover different ground.
Do we have to leave QQ Catalyst to use Relay?
No. Agencies keep their AMS. Relay is designed to remove the typing that happens before work gets recorded there.
