Loss Runs
How to request loss runs from Berkley (W. R. Berkley Corporation).
W. R. Berkley Corporation is one of the largest commercial lines property and casualty insurers in the US, and it is deliberately decentralized: 60 distinct businesses, each focused on a niche, industry, or region. That structure matters for loss runs. There is no central Berkley loss run desk. The operating unit that issued the policy services it, so your first step is reading the unit name off the dec page (BerkleyNet, Berkley Select, Berkley Service Professionals, and so on).
How to request
Agent portal
BerkleyNet (workers compensation): log in to your BerkleyNet account and select Get Loss Run in the Quick Tools section of the home page. BerkleyNet notes that only an owner or officer of the policyholder can receive loss run copies, because the reports contain sensitive employee information.
Agent portal
Berkley Select: producers log in to the Express portal to generate real-time loss run reports for in-force and expired business. Berkley Select also hosts an online request form for insureds and authorized parties, who must attach a signed and dated request.
Berkley Service Professionals: the broker of record emails bsplossruns@berkleysp.com with the insured name, policy number(s), and the delivery email address. The unit's site states the report is delivered within 24 business hours.
Carrier rep
General guidanceFor any other Berkley operating unit, check that unit's own claims or loss run page, or ask your Berkley underwriter. Channels vary by unit: some are portal self-serve, some are a dedicated email, some go through your rep.
What to include in your request
- The Berkley operating unit named on the dec page, before anything else
- Named insured exactly as it appears on the policy
- Policy number(s) and the policy periods you need
- Years of history requested (three to five is standard)
- The email address the report should be delivered to
- A signed letter of authorization from the insured if you are not the broker of record

The 60-business structure and the three unit-level routes above were verified on Berkley's public sites. Other Berkley units publish their own channels, which vary, so check the issuing unit's site rather than assuming these apply. Verified 2026-07-11.

Common questions
Which Berkley company do I send my loss run request to?
The one on the dec page. W. R. Berkley runs 60 separate businesses and each services its own policies. A request sent to the wrong unit just gets bounced or lost.
Can I get loss runs for several Berkley units in one request?
No. Each operating unit handles its own reports through its own portal, email, or rep. If an insured has policies with two Berkley units, that is two requests.
How long do Berkley loss runs take?
It depends on the unit. Berkley Service Professionals publishes delivery within 24 business hours of an email request, and Berkley Select's Express portal generates reports in real time for producers. Most other units publish no turnaround.
