How to request loss runs from Berkshire Hathaway GUARD.
Berkshire Hathaway GUARD writes workers compensation and other commercial lines for small and mid-size businesses, exclusively through appointed independent agents. Loss run requests most often come up when a comp or package account is being remarketed.
How to request
Agent portal
Appointed agents work GUARD business through the Agency Service Center, the login GUARD points agents to from guard.com. GUARD does not publicly itemize the portal's report list, so start there for accounts you service.
Online form
Have the insured pull it. GUARD's Policyholder Service Center lists loss runs as an online self-service feature (view policy loss history, easily download loss runs) and posts a How to View Loss Runs guide.
GUARD publishes its customer service team at csr@guard.com and 800-673-2465 on the Policyholder Service Center page. Use it when self-service does not cover the term you need.
Carrier rep
General guidanceIf you are not the agent of record, send a signed letter of authorization from the insured with your request through GUARD's service channels.
What to include in your request
- Named insured exactly as it appears on the policy
- The insured's FEIN, which workers comp carriers use to match accounts
- Policy number(s) and the policy periods you need
- Years of history requested (three to five is standard)
- A signed letter of authorization from the insured if you are not the agent of record

Common questions
Can the insured download their own GUARD loss runs?
Yes. GUARD's Policyholder Service Center lists loss run downloads among its online self-service features and posts a How to View Loss Runs guide. For accounts you are remarketing without agent of record status, this is usually the fastest route.
Is there a dedicated loss run email for GUARD?
GUARD does not publish one. The published service contact is csr@guard.com or 800-673-2465, and appointed agents can work through the Agency Service Center.
