Loss Runs

How to request loss runs from CNA.

CNA is a commercial lines carrier writing through appointed independent agents and brokers, with a heavy book in small business, middle market, and professional lines. Loss run requests usually come up when a commercial account is being remarketed or hitting a hard renewal.

How to request

Agent portal

CNA Central is the agent portal. CNA's public agent center says appointed agents use it to access policy documents, loss runs, and claims information. CNA's producer guide for the Claim Status and Loss Experience tool shows loss reports under Claim Information, with the Loss Experience view covering the current plus four prior policy years.

Carrier rep

General guidance

If you need history the portal does not surface, or you are not set up in CNA Central, request it through your CNA underwriter or the service contact for the account.

What to include in your request

  • Named insured exactly as it appears on the policy
  • Policy number(s) and the policy periods you need
  • Years of history requested (CNA Central's Loss Experience view covers current plus four policy years)
  • Your agency name and producer code if you are the agent of record
  • A signed letter of authorization from the insured if you are not the agent of record

Sources and verification

Portal capability verified against CNA's public agent center page and its CNA Central producer guide. The guide is older, so menu names may have moved. CNA loss-run request emails circulate on third-party directories, but we could not verify one on CNA's own site, so none is listed. Verified 2026-07-11.

When the loss runs arrive, Relay reads them into structured claim data. See Document Parsing →

Common questions

How much claim history does CNA Central show?

CNA's producer guide says the Loss Experience report covers the current plus four prior policy years. For anything older, go through your CNA underwriter or service contact.

Can I get CNA loss runs if I am not the agent of record?

Not through the portal. Either the insured requests their own loss history from CNA, or you submit a signed letter of authorization from the insured with your request.
