Loss Runs

How to request loss runs from EMC Insurance.

EMC Insurance is a mutual insurance company that has partnered with local independent agents for more than a century and writes business insurance in more than 40 states, with commercial property, liability, workers compensation, and business owners policies among its core lines. Loss run requests usually come up when a commercial account is being remarketed or a new market wants claim history before quoting.

How to request

Agent portal

Appointed agents service EMC business through the Agent Access portal. EMC describes it as the place to manage quotes, renewals, billing, claims, and bonds through dashboards, so start there for reports on accounts you service.

  • Policy number(s) and the policy periods you need
  • Years of history requested (three to five is standard)
  • Your agency name and producer code if you are the agent of record
  • A signed letter of authorization from the insured if you are not the agent of record

Common questions

Can I pull loss runs directly from EMC's Agent Access portal?

Agent Access is EMC's servicing portal for quotes, renewals, billing, claims, and bonds. EMC does not publish a public list of the reports inside it, so check the reporting area for your account first, then ask your EMC branch office if you cannot self-serve.

Can I get loss runs from EMC if I am not the agent of record?

Not directly. Either the insured requests their own claim history from EMC, or you submit a signed letter of authorization from the insured along with your request.
