Loss Runs
How to request loss runs from Kemper.
Kemper distributes through independent agents, but it routes agent access by line of business. Its continuing lines are Kemper Auto, its specialty and nonstandard auto book, and Kemper Life. Loss run requests most often come up on a Kemper Auto account being remarketed.
One thing to know before you request: on August 7, 2023 Kemper announced it is exiting the preferred home and auto business sold under Kemper Personal Insurance, and it is non-renewing or canceling those policies. Kemper said this has no impact on Kemper Auto or Kemper Life. So a loss run on a Kemper Personal Insurance home or auto policy may be on a book that is winding down.
How to request
Agent portal
Kemper's public agent portal page lists separate sign-ins by line: Kemper Auto and Kemper Personal Insurance through signin.kemper.com/login/agent/, and Kemper Life through its own portal. Check the dec page for which Kemper company wrote the policy, then service it and pull documents in that portal.

What to include in your request
- Named insured exactly as it appears on the policy
- Policy number(s) and the policy periods you need
- Which Kemper company wrote the policy (Kemper Auto, Kemper Personal Insurance, or Kemper Life), from the dec page, since the portals are split
- Years of history requested (three to five is standard)
- Your agency name and producer code if you are the agent of record
- A signed letter of authorization from the insured if you are not the agent of record
