Loss Runs

How to request loss runs from Liberty Mutual.

Liberty Mutual is a global P&C carrier writing small commercial, midsize and large commercial, surety, and personal lines. Since April 25, 2026 its personal lines sold through independent agents, formerly branded Safeco, also carry the Liberty Mutual name. Loss run requests come up most on small commercial and workers comp accounts being remarketed.

How to request

Agent portal

Small commercial agents service Liberty Mutual business through the Liberty Mutual agents' portal, which the public agent and broker dashboard describes as the place to access eCLIQ, deliver policies, and manage accounts. Midsize and large brokers get a separate broker portal that includes Liberty Mutual's risk-management information system, which is where loss information for larger accounts lives.

Carrier rep

General guidance

Liberty Mutual does not publicly document a labeled loss-run request path. If the report is not self-serve for your line, request it through your Liberty Mutual territory or service contact listed inside the portal.

What to include in your request

  • Named insured exactly as it appears on the policy
  • Policy number(s) and the policy periods you need
  • Years of history requested (three to five is standard)
  • Your agency name and producer code if you are the agent of record
  • A signed letter of authorization from the insured if you are not the agent of record

Sources and verification

Portal names and the broker risk-management information system are verified against Liberty Mutual's public agent and broker dashboard. Liberty Mutual publishes no loss-run request email, form, or turnaround time, so none is listed here. Verified 2026-07-11.

Common questions

Where do former Safeco claim history requests go?

Through Liberty Mutual. The Safeco brand was retired on April 25, 2026, policies carried over unchanged, and the independent agent channel now services those personal lines accounts under the Liberty Mutual name.

Can brokers on larger accounts pull loss data themselves?

Liberty Mutual's broker portal for midsize and large business includes its risk-management information system, so brokers on those accounts typically have loss information self-serve. Small commercial agents work through the agents' portal or their service contact.

Can I get Liberty Mutual loss runs if I am not the agent of record?

Not directly. Either the insured requests their own loss history, or you submit a signed letter of authorization from the insured with your request.
