Loss Runs
How to request loss runs from Selective.
Selective Insurance writes standard commercial and personal lines through independent agents, plus flood through a separate program and excess and surplus lines through Selective Risk Managers. Loss run requests most often come up on commercial package, workers comp, and commercial auto accounts being remarketed.
How to request
Agent portal
Appointed agents work Selective business through eSelect, reached from the P&C Retail Agent Login on selective.com. It is the first place to look for policy documents and reports on accounts you service. Agencies request eSelect credentials through the username request form on Selective's site.
Phone
Selective lists an agent technical support line at 800-777-9656, option 3, open 8 AM to 7 PM ET on weekdays, that handles eSelect, rating, billing, and claims inquiries. It is not a dedicated loss-run desk, but it is the number to call when you cannot pull a report in eSelect.
Carrier rep
General guidanceFor excess and surplus accounts written through Selective Risk Managers, or anything the service center cannot pull, go through your Selective underwriter or territory contact.
What to include in your request
- Named insured exactly as it appears on the policy
- Policy number(s) and the policy periods you need
- Years of history requested (three to five is standard)
- The line of business, since flood and E&S run through separate Selective channels
- Your agency name and producer code if you are the agent of record
- A signed letter of authorization from the insured if you are not the agent of record
Sources and verification
- Selective agents page (eSelect and Agency Client Service Center)
- eSelect username and password request form
The eSelect portal, the Agency Client Service Center number, and its hours were verified on Selective's public agent pages. Selective does not publish a loss-run request email or a standard turnaround time, so none is listed here. Verified 2026-07-11.
In Relay

Common questions
How do I get loss history on a Selective flood policy?
Flood runs through a separate channel. Selective lists a dedicated flood agent login and a flood support line at 877-348-0552 on its agents page. Do not send flood requests to the standard commercial lines service center.
Can I get Selective loss runs if I am not the agent of record?
Not directly. Either the insured requests their own claim history, or you submit a signed letter of authorization from the insured with your request.
