Loss Runs

How to request loss runs from The Hartford.

The Hartford is a major small commercial and middle market writer that distributes through independent agents. It is one of the few carriers that documents loss-run access publicly: agents pull loss runs inside its Electronic Business Center, and the company site carries a plain-language loss-run explainer for insureds.

How to request

Agent portal

The Hartford's Electronic Business Center (EBC) has loss runs self-serve under its Claims section. The EBC service quick guide says agents can access up to five years of loss history or enter a customized date range. Agencies register at agency.thehartford.com and log in at ebc.thehartford.com.

Agent portal

If your agency management system supports The Hartford's real-time eservices, you can link from the AMS into the EBC. The same quick guide lists loss run access (commercial only) among the AMS eservice functions.

Carrier rep

For accounts or lines where loss runs are not self-serve in the EBC, The Hartford's public guidance says to contact the carrier or agent directly, so route the request through your Hartford service team or have the insured request it.

What to include in your request

  • Named insured exactly as it appears on the policy
  • Policy number(s) and the policy periods you need
  • Years of history requested (three to five is standard; five is the EBC self-serve maximum)
  • Your agency name and producer code if you are the agent of record
  • A signed letter of authorization from the insured if you are not the agent of record

Sources and verification

EBC loss-run access and the five-year history window come from The Hartford's own EBC quick guide. The Hartford publishes no loss-run request email; its public explainer points insureds to their carrier or agent. Verified 2026-07-11.
